This year Nike is doing their Soccer City Clash in New York CIty! Round 1 of the games, started Uptown, 108th Street & Riverside Drive this past Monday. The tournaments will take over different locations every week. From Uptown, to Downtown, Queens and Brooklyn. The teams will go up against each other until only one remains. We, of course, are rooting for the Uptown team and would love to see our neighborhood win. Take a look below at Monday's highlights and the soccer jerseys designed by Contemporary Latino artist M.Tony Peralta. Click Here to see the schedule for the remaining games.

Uptown Colmado: brought to you by The Peralta Project x APT.78 x Cerveza Presidente

Uptown Colmado: brought to you by The Peralta Project x APT.78 x Cerveza Presidente

Two Sundays ago, we had a fusion of people in La Marina celebrating a mashup of "Dominicanesa" at The Uptown Colmado. The event was brought to you by The Peralta Projext x Apt.78 x Cerveza Presidente. This Dominican affair was born to pay tribute to el colmado: a place where people gather and also do their groceries. Just like the colmados in D.R., you were able to drink, dance, and enjoy "una fria", celebrating your Dominican roots with everyone. DJ's like Tony Touch, A Party Called Rosie Perez, DJ Bemboma and DJ Ignishun were spinning the classics, keeping the atmosphere hyped! It was a great time to reconnect with your roots, people from different cultures, but most importantly this event brought the uptown community together! Check out the images below shot
